As a Chinese living in a foreign country, Chinatown didn't give me much of a sense of home at first. So when I first came to the United States, I resisted entering Chinatown. I felt the sky there was always gloomy, the smell was terrible, and the people were noisy and crowded. But over the years, I gradually fell in love with Chinatown. There may not be perfect, but I am very proud that my country can have its small town in many of the most developed cities in the world so that Chinese who work or study abroad can find a sense of belonging.
